Grab a cup of coffee and sip it on as I take you through a much requested post – My Bridal Journey…what all I wore, from where did I buy them, how much did it cost, makeup details and much more! But before that, I am sorry for being MIA for the longest time now! Been really caught up in settling into my new life! For those who follow me on myInstagram must know that I have recently got married and finally settled down after a 7 year long relationship with Mr. Husband. That being said, you guys requested me on my Instagram to do a bridal outfit and makeup post, so here I am re-living all those memories as a pen down this post.
A few of my fellow friends would know how Indian Weddings are, and specially Punjabi weddings! Over the top celebrations, over enthusiastic relatives (and drunk too :P), hell lot of dancing on Punjabi songs, and of course lots and lots of food are a few of the major high points of a typical Punjabi wedding. I for one was always fascinated of a dream wedding and to look perfect on every single function. Having started with the preparations for my D-day well in advance (well, an year in advance actually), I did spent majority of my weekends surveying the markets and basically exploring the trends which are currently “in”.
For all the Bride-to-be, I have one suggestion. Before you actually hit the market for shopping, I would strongly suggest you to first decide exactly what kind of outfit you wish to wear on each of your functions.
Being a person who is not a fan of the Winter season, the only thing I literally look forward to is wearing dark lipsticks! I personally prefer shades of berry, dark red and browns, purple and plum for the winters. Basically the darker the lips, the better it is! 😛
Benefit Porefessional primer
Estee Lauder double wear foundation
YBP Cosmetics Makeup sponge (sooo good!)
Mac Cosmetics conceal and correct palette for concealer and contour (cream)
Mac Cosmetics studio fix for setting the under eyes
Makeup Revolution protection palette for setting the cream contour
Toofaced semi sweet chocolate palette
Colourpop Cosmetics super shock shadow – Liberty
Colourpop Cosmetics eyebrow pencil Bangin’ Brunette
I wore a royal blue straight suit with silver emroidery work. I wore a pearl and kundan set and a tiny blue color bindi 🙂
Here’s the complete look
Hope you liked this mini tutorial. Do let me know if you try this look!
So recently I did a Makeup 101 Diwali Special series on myInstagrampage which featured a Step by Step makeup guide for you to get that perfect selfie! 😉 Each day, I shared my must haves and some additional product recommendations. I thought why not do a complete post for the ease of my lovely readers 🙂
Halloween time brings to my mind all kind of scary and creepy characters. Like a masked man with a big knife chasing a terrified girl, creepy Clown, blood chasing Vampires, Zombies, and Ware wolves! And that’s why when I thought of creating a look for myself this Halloween, I thought why not experiment with a similar dark creepy look.
I decided to dress up as a Vampire, wearing my Black and Red jumpsuit from Stalk Buy Love. I literally used bare minimum products for this look, which included:
Red Lipstick – Midnight Rose by Faces (Buyhere) – for the blood effect on the lips, bruise effect near the eye area and the neck as well.
Blue Liner Pencil – Maybelline Vivid Liner Pencil (Buyhere) – for the nerves effect under the eye.
Black Liner Pencil – Plum Goodness kajal (Buy here) – to outline the lips for a gothic effect and for smokey effect on the eyes.
Black Liquid Eyeliner – Sugar Cosmetics Eye Told You So eyeliner (Buy here) – for a bold winged liner.
Fall season is here and so are all my dark lipsticks! An evergreen trend for the Fall season is dark and bold lips – so basically all your burgundy, chocolate brown, plum, deep red, purple shades are going to get more attention now! 😛
Today’s post is going to be a look I created which is perfect to compliment this season. I have paired up purple smokey eyes with a deep purple lipstick. I have used two of my favorite products from Colourpop Cosmetics. (details below)
Hello to all the Happy Faces! I hope you all are doing great! Today I shall be sharing a very simple yet classic makeup looking – The Gold Smokey Eyes. I went all out with this look and paired it up with a bright and bold Red lips as well (lipstick being my favorite part, I simply could not function with nude lips here).
With the Navratras going on, it’s going to be a gala season now till the year ends – Dussehra, Diwali, Tikka, (my wedding :P), more weddings, Christmas, and New Year! This look is perfect for the upcoming festive season and suitable for the Indian skin tone.
Disclaimer: I am no professional at makeup. This is just my way of playing and experimenting with makeup 🙂
Hello to all the Happy Faces! I hope you all are doing great!
If you follow me onInstagram then you would know that I am taking all the advantages of being a Bride to be :D. And this gives me enough reason to literally shop till I drop! I mean seriously, the past few months have been crazy shopping all possible stuff from head to toe – from tops, dresses, jeans, lingerie, Indian suits, sarees, footwear, jewelry, bags (and more bags), and of course MAKEUP! Isn’t that the most important thing? 😉
Unfortunately, for makeup enthusiasts residing in India, it can be a task to buy high end makeup brands because these are not sold in India, at least not yet (such as Anastasia Beverly Hills, Kat Von D, Huda Beauty, and many more)! Of course there are a lot of “Insta Stores” selling makeup from brands which are not available in India, but then that always comes at a premium price.
I actually stumbled upon a fellow bloggers’ page and learnt that she had shopped from UK’s famous online store for beauty products – “Cult Beauty“. While I knew about this store from before, I was kind of skeptical about ordering from an international store and thoughts like shipping charges, custom duty, and exchange rates crossed my mind.
But well, as you can figure out from the tagline of this post, I went ahead and grabbed some stuff from Cult Beauty! (Wohooo….Happy Dance!)
So this post is in continuation with my previous post about all the things I recently purchased from Nykaa and my first impressions!
As I mentioned in my last post, I shopped in parts because I thought I would limit myself to buy less stuff, but well…it failed! And therefore, this huge haul. (In no way am I trying to show off or flaunt anything. I am just sharing all the products I thought are worthy of buying and I would recommend them to you as well)
